In this talk, I’ll share how contemporary artists can blend classical portrait techniques with modern tools to create compelling work. We’ll explore how I approach projects that involve old photographs—using facial reconstruction principles, compositional planning in Procreate, and combining multiple references to build a cohesive figure. I’ll also touch on historical methods (like using busts or mannequins) and how those compare to today’s digital approaches.
